What is Meet me after 5?

A free, English-first guide to happy hours in Tel Aviv. Every place is checked by a person, and the app shows you what is running right now, what starts later tonight and where it is in relation to you. No account, no ads, no paid placement.

What do 'Live now' and 'Starts in' mean?

Both are calculated live in Tel Aviv time. 'Live now' means a happy hour is valid at this exact minute, with a countdown to when it ends (and a 'Hurry' warning under 30 minutes). 'Starts in' means the deal begins later the same day. 'Open now' refers only to the venue's opening hours.

How is 'Happening Today' organised?

It splits the evening into Live now, Starting Soon (in the next 2 hours) and Later today, so you can see what to walk into immediately versus what to aim for. If very few deals are live, we show the ones starting soonest instead.

Question 4

How do you order the results?

Accepted Answer

By default we rank by how good the deal is right now: our After 5 Picks first, then discount depth, whether it is live, whether it starts later today, how many deals a venue runs, and finally how close it is to you. Use 'Deal time' sort to see the evening laid out chronologically - deals happening right now first, then the ones starting soonest, all the way through to the last one ending tonight - so you can plan a whole crawl. You can also switch to sorting by distance or name.

How do you verify the deals?

A human checks every listing. We call or visit the venue, confirm the days, the times and exactly what is included, then stamp the date you see on the venue page. We do not scrape menus, and anything we cannot confirm never goes live.

What is an 'After 5 Pick'?

Accepted Answer

Our editorial badge, marked with a gem icon. A pick is a place our team genuinely rates for the value of the deal, the atmosphere and how reliably the happy hour is honoured. Picks are chosen on merit only and can never be bought.

Question 7

Do the Food and Drinks chips mean the whole menu?

Accepted Answer

No. The chips show what a deal covers, drinks, food or both, and a 'Menu' chip means the discount applies across the menu. Premium bottles, full food menus and specials are often excluded, so always read the deal text on the venue page before ordering.

Do I need an account to save places?

Accepted Answer

No. Saved places, your taste signals and your theme live on your device, and 'My After 5' builds a personal shortlist from them, including tonight's recommendation. Meet Me After 5 is also installable as a phone app: from your second visit onwards we gently offer 'Add to Home Screen', and once installed it opens full-screen like a native app, keeps its own icon, and works offline so your saved places and the last-loaded happy hours are still there with no signal. Because the installed app uses separate storage, open 'My After 5' and copy the transfer code to bring your existing saves across.

Question 9

How does distance work, and can I hide it?

Walking distance only appears if you tap 'Use my location'. Your coordinates are used inside your browser and are never stored on our servers. Decline and distances simply stay hidden, everything else keeps working.

Can I add or correct a listing?

Accepted Answer

Please do. Use Suggest a place to send a new venue, a changed time, a photo or a deal that no longer exists. Venue owners are welcome to submit their own happy hour, and every submission is reviewed by a person before it goes live.
